A long way to the shop ...

I must admit to not being a very big ACDC fan - by this I don't mean that I am vertically challenged, but that I do not like their music.

However, I am huge fan of Melbourne - I lived their for two years and still regard it as home. Unfortunately events have conspired to pull me away and it is unlikely that I will return....

Curiously, I worked in Prahran, at The Avenue hospital which is just past Lewisham Road and to add a dollop of X-Filesesque ingredients, I actually hail from Lewisham in South East London (or Sarf Eeest Lahndun, as we are want to say).

Anyhow, I don't suppose that there is any chance of me becoming a Melbournite (in your group thingy) is there?

Elizabeth Street, Latrobe Street, St Kilda Footie Team, Flinders Street, Collins Street... oh how I miss them... (sigh).

Not sure about ACDC Lane though. Maybe something like NIck Cave Cove or Dead Can Dance Drive?

I don't see any problem with you joining the group, Godbluff. I haven't lived in Melbourne for over 15 years myself but figure once a Melbournite, always a Melbournite!

Like your ideas for other street names. maybe Caulfield Grammar School should have a Nick Cave wing or something?

Thanks for that. Maybe I could be the South London Wing (makes us sound like a paramilitary organisation!)

I'll dig out some photographs.

Any St Kilda supporters out there?

No, Richmond Tigers here. My dad was a St Kilda supporter though and my brother still is. We always used to go to the Tigers vs Saints games at Moorabin or the G when I was a kid.
I live in Wandsworth which can justifiably lay claim to the most boring borough in London.
However, we have quite a few expat Aussies here and they spend most of the summer in the local local park playing Aussie Rules. Makes me quite homesick!
