Everything's turning to white

This is inspired by Cat's Black Betty post.

This is (formerly black) Mollie next to a pot of orchids:

This is her just before Christmas in 2005. She used to be much blacker even than this.

I will have had her for 14 years next February. The RSPCA estimated her age at about 12 months old at the time I got her. She walks very stiffly these days due to arthritis in her back legs (she has injections of something called Cartrophen for this). She also has cataracts and virtually no hearing and coughs a lot. Her heart and other organs are still strong though and she seems quite happy. She is forever trying to sneak onto the forbidden carpet or sniffing around for bits of dropped food.

lol - she has that freshly beaten look as well in the second photo - they sure know how to bung on those sad eyes when they need to.

Ha ha, yes. I was actually lucky to get her at the RSPCA as she had only just come in at the time. As they didn't know if she was lost or dumped (she had been found wandering in a forest wearing a collar and broken lead), they had to keep her for 10 days to make sure noone came. When I came to pick her up at the end of that time, she had quite a few people on a 'waiting list' if I didn't want her. I am sure it is the sad face that won all the fans.

She's lovely! She looks like a mischievious creature as well. My dog is the same, used to be pure black but is now going grey along his muzzle, he's only 5. She sounds to be doing very well for 12, long may it last!

Beautiful old puppy. But you are right about a resemblence to a very famous literary dog

She is not too mischievous these days (she used to be a total handful when she was younger! ;) ). She still does like to sneak into the rubbish bin if she gets the change though.

Molly is adorable! She reminds me of my Oreo, 15 years old, with cataracts and stiffness in his legs, coughing too, but still grab his toy every time I come home. :-)

Oreo is cute too! Is he part schnauzer?

who knows? :-)

I was told he has some Lahasa Apso [his hair grows very long, down to the floor even, if I don't keep it cut], but he's larger than that, there may be some terrier, too. Like I said, who knows? :-)
