Just because some things never date
Aya and I were just talking about the enduring appeal of some old movies. It is amazing to think that the Wizard of Oz was made in 1938 and still appeals to children today. My daughter loved this movie when she was little and still finds it very comforting to watch now. It was also my father's favourite movie of all time. He was born in 1938. The last time we saw him (two days before he died), he and my daughter had a little singalong of one of the songs from this movie.
We actually have quite a good selection of old movies at our local library. In the last few weeks we have watched Gentleman Prefer Blondes, Some Like it Hot (the kids loved this once they got over the horror of it being in black and white) and Superman II (not quite as old but probably still seems ancient to my kids). I also have To Sir with Love and one of the Star Trek movies lined up for the next couple of weeks.

Bryce and I both think that Marilyn Monroe is timeless. When there was a possibility that Callum was a lady his name would have been Lilly-Monroe. The first pet Bryce and I shared was named Lillian and Monroe is much prettier than Marilyn I think.
Bryce loves to watch 60's and 70's kung fu movies, I bet your kids would get a kick out of those, they're great!
I wouldnt really know, but Bryce suggested A fistful of Talons or 7 golden vampires~ which is an asian twist on the Van Helsing legend. Both are in English and Bryce thinks both are pretty family friendly, just check the rating before hand because Bryce's version of family friendly is very different from my own.
