Public transport or a dormitory on wheels

Comments

I have to admit, I'm a morning bus sleeper... one who squishes herself against the window so there's plenty of space for anyone who needs to sit down.

Sprawling and acting oblivious is just plain rude, especially considering how ridiculously overcrowded Sydney public transport is!
Maybe they are sick with the flu and on the way to the doctor...you wouldn't want to sick next to them and catch their germs. Or, they could just be rude people taking up too much space on the public transport. <grin>
The old "if I can't see you, you don't need a seat" trick!
I agree. I have no problem with people sleeping (although it was 9:30 not 6:30!) but the encroaching is what gets me. I probably would have woken one of them up except that I saw another seat down the end of the carriage (you know those single ones squashed in the corner that noone likes to sit in). I have woken people up before to ask them to move over and am always amused at the indignation!
I think rude is more likely. They were already well into their nap when I got on 20 mins from the city so would be a long way to travel to the doctor.
Yes, would almost be amusing if not so annoying. I wonder how they would feel to know that their photo has been plastered on the internet. Maybe I should send a copy to the Daily Telegraph or even better, MX (new free paper where people write in their whinges about the behaviour and smells of their fellow commuters).
