Meeting partner at work is not kuper at all =D
And does it make you more excited to go to work?
thanks Melissa. We only worked together for aobut a year or so when we first met (in 1995/96). A couple of years ago he wanted to apply for a job that was vacant in my current office and I said no. I go to work to get away from my family! lol
There's nothing wrong with that. I met my other half in a cheesy club having drunk my own body weight in cheap vodka so your meeting is miles classier than mine!
Where else do you get so much opportunity to see someone for long hours and in many different situations? It seems to me like work should be an excellent place to meet a potential partner.
I have friends who met their partners at work so I think it's fine. My parents & hubby's parents set us up like I wouldn't get a decent man by myself! Beat that! lol

...but Canberra being Canberra (where everyone is separated by about two degrees), it eventually seeped out...

Heck yes. Can be a terribly gossipy sort of town, Canberra, especially in public service circles. I didn't meet my wife through work (we work in markedly different areas) but there were two degrees of separation at play which resulted in our meeting. I think I'll be remembering that word, too.

Ha ha. Good to hear, Vicola.
Very true, Maju. I think it is good to try and work in separate places after the relationship starts though. Can get a bit messy otherwise.
That's okay, Aya. I have friends in arranged marriages and they seem perfectly happy. Sometimes other people know us better than we know ourselves. :)
Yes, well we were both public servants at the time. Only takes one person to see you lunching or shopping together and the news spreads very quickly from there.
yes, that's certainly one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I think in this matter my parents knew who's best for me :)
A "secret romance" sounds quite exciting - far from daggy! (a word I love).
Thanks Emjay. Must be hard not being able to use words like daggy because you are living overseas. I don't think there is really any equivalent word to daggy in US English, is there?
No - there isn't really. I use it anyway and love the quizzical looks it gets but very few people actually ask what it means. I like to say "tag dag" too if I see someone with their tag out.
Ooh, haven't heard "tag dag". I just say "dag with a tag" for that. lol Speaking of daggy, I just had a massive wardrobe malfunction with my work skirt and had to dash off to the Pitt St Mall to find something to wear for the rest of the workday (was either that or tracksuit pants).
LOL ... I have many safety pins in my bag and drawer to cope with such malfunctions. Though it is a good excuse to have to buy something new. I have seen huge splits stapled up but that looks as though it could be dangerous! :-)
Yes, it was a good excuse to buy something new. FOrtunately we can wear casual clothes on Friday so I just bought a pair of pedal pushers in Sussan that will be good for weekend wear as well.
