Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre

This place really is kid heaven!  The kids and I went there yesterday with another mum and her kids as her daughter (who went there with someone else recently) had been pestering to go back.  We all went in the one car so it was high excitement all the way there and back.  There was a carnival on in the main Olympic pool but we had free access to the other pools which included a large lagoon type pool complete with waterfalls and other features, a whirlpool and a long, winding water slide (which the two little ones were too short for).  My son had been doing school swimming lessons all the past week and could see that his water confidence was greatly improved.  I am trying to find some weekly lessons so he can continue on from where he is now but they all seem to be at really difficult times for us to get to.  He will probably spend a fair chunk of our holiday on the island in the water so hopefully that will sustain him at least at the level he is at now.  Here are some photos I took (which I am making neighbours only because of the creeps that have been hanging around my blog lately):
