Tired of all the endless nit-picking
Having endured three years of this particular parental nightmare, I can so relate to this opinion piece. It is true that head lice don't discriminate. They were absolutely rife at my daughter's old school (where parking areas were always filled with expensive Range Rovers and other flashy cars). The weird thing was that noone but us ever seemed to get them (or at least to admit to it!) - so who was my daughter catching them from? One of those eternal mysteries of life, I suppose. We are at a much more humble school now and so far (TOUCH WOOD!) neither child has caught it from there. I still try and maintain vigilance though by adhering to the Get Smart principle, ie, "When you least expect it ... expect it!".
