Vox Hunt: Allergy Season

Comments

Aw, another person allergic to cats - I feel so bad for you!
Are you too, Maura? My oldest daughter is but not my son. Fortunately none of my daughter's friends have cats and her grandmother's has just died (at the age of 18!). I remember this being a real problem when I was a kid as both my grandparents and my close friends over the road had them so I would get allergic whenever I visited.
I used to suffer with allergies too, to the point I needed a daily AH to keep from clawing my face off from the itchy sinuses. My Dad suggested to me that I give up milk. I did and my allergies greatly reduced. I no longer need the daily claritin. I admit if I go into a dirty place (My Mother-in-law's house with her four dogs and dust bunnies running under the dining table) will set me off, and buddleia, which blooms biannually, will aggravate me but nothing like it was in my twenties when I had milk everyday. Worth a try?
Thanks Lyvvie. I don't have a lot of milk or dairy products - just in my morning coffee and if I ever have breakfast cereal (usually too rushed). Was kind of thinking I should be having more to help ward off osteoporosis. Hard to know!
