Well done, J! Since Christmas my boys have had an ongoing Lego game (based on Star Wars, of course, but also featuring Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy) that has taken place on a daily basis. Oh, and I'm preparing for a deluge of requests for new Lego. We've noticed that most shops have cleared nearly all their Lego from the shelves except for the very large, expensive sets. So I'm assuming that all-new, super-duper, whizzbang models are about to hit the stores.
We tend to get our lego duty free from the island. What I have noticed though is that it is all kits these days. What I really would like is a big box of random pieces like we used to have with Duplo (I gave this away about a year ago with the idea of upgrading to the big kids lego). You can buy bulk lots of lego on ebay but tends to be quite expensive. I saw a little house kit on the island that I am going to request for J's birthday in March. Haven't seen that particular kit anywhere here. It was under $20 and came in both "boys" and "girls" colours.
Yes, Lego on ebay is really expensive. Trying to think of where I saw boxes of random Lego pieces yesterday - possibly Target? In brick tubs similar to the ones you get Duplo in. We have never needed to get the starter sets because an older cousin donated all of his to the boys when he outgrew it. As a result we have much, much more Lego than we could ever possibly need - and for a couple of years there Grandma was buying them various kits for birthday and Christmas. Worth checking Salvos and Vinnies if you are ever there because they often have some too - which is how ds1 acquired his Harry Potter set.
