Another one for the Melbournians

It is the final episode of Underbelly on televison tonight (sob!). For those of you who haven't been illegally downloading episodes, you might be interested to know that the Uncut DVD of the series is on sale in all states but Victoria this Sunday (anyone planning to drive to Albury this Sunday?). It is not quite in time for Mother's Day but my mum is happy to get her Mother's Day present late this year. Have promised to buy an ExpressPost satchel before the weekend and pop the contraband into the post as soon as i am able to purchase it. Think my mum would probably be exempt from jury service anyway (that's what I am saying, anyway!).

One for the (non-Victorian) Australians

I am not normally a big fan of anything on Channel 9 (the station that brings us the Footy Show, 60 Minutes, My Kids a Star etc etc) but absolutely LOVING Underbelly. Isn't the actress playing Roberta Williams in Underbelly absolutely brilliant? Underbelly review

Unsurprisingly, the real Roberta Williams not too happy with her portrayal as "a gold- plated eccy-mole, a 24-carat scrag with a wharfie's voice and a vocab to match". This is from a media article on what Williams thinks of the show:

Williams has been very vocal in her criticism of actress Kat Stewart's portrayal of her.

"I certainly don't talk the way she does," Williams said.

"I sound like some real Aussie chick who comes from the slums of god knows where.

"Sometimes, yes, I swear, I yell and scream like the police would've heard on lots of listening devices in our home, but I don't conduct myself in the manner they're portraying on the show."

Williams also said she was more prudish than Underbelly made her appear and had never taken the drug ecstasy.

"I'm not one of these chicks who spasmodically has sex wherever it's desired like they portray me on the show," she said.

"I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to things like that."
